Macromedia released Dreamweaver 8 with many new features, but very few new hidden secrets. Between the MX and MX 2004 editions of our book there are well over 400 unique tips. To come up with 150 brand spankin' new tips that are truly "killer" and not just "hey-look-at-this-new-feature-which-you-probably-already-know-about" tips, would be a bit of a stretch.
So rather than scam our loyal fans by slapping a new cover on the same book and updating a few screen shots, we decided we'll skip this version of Dreamweaver and wait for the next one. (Here's where you say, "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!") Yeah, we know you really wanted us to do another one for Dreamweaver 8, but we just couldn't bear disappointing our readers by re-using the majority of tips from the last book. We hope you understand.
There may be a new book for the next version of Dreamweaver (or whatever Adobe decides to call it), whenever that may be so do check back when that's released. (No, we don't know when that is and no, we haven't started writing it yet.)
Now if you haven't purchased Dreamweaver MX 2004 Killer Tips yet in anticipation of a new book, you can stop waiting and get it now. Nearly* every tip is still applicable to Dreamweaver 8, so you can go get your copy today. Hurry up, go already... Go on! Why are you still reading this? You think we're funny?! Don't let our babbling stop you from going to buy a copy. You can come back here later and keep reading, we'll let you. Fine, just read the rest of the page and see if we care...
* We haven't double-checked every tip to see if it works perfectly in Dreamweaver 8 but there shouldn't be a problem with the vast majority of tips.
Beware of Dreamweaver 8 Killer Tips advertisements on your favorite online bookstores – they're all fakes. That's right; imposters. A cover was made by our publisher's artists and distributed in anticipation of the next edition of Dreamweaver Killer Tips before the decision was made that there will not be a Dreamweaver 8 Killer Tips book. So if you pre-ordered online, please cancel that order. If you don't have the MX 2004 edition of our book yet you can order that one instead. It won't hurt our feelings, really.
Grab your friends, co-workers, family, and/or neighbors, and head to the nearest bookstore to purchase your copy of Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 Killer Tips today. You can go by yourself if you really want to, but then there won't be anyone to look at you like you're crazy as you gaze at the book in excitement... Where's the fun in that? If you're the patient type and prefer home delivery, order online from New Riders, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, Buy.com, or wherever else you can find Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 Killer Tips! In the meantime have a look around our website, read some tips, and have some fun.
Looking for a quick way to accomplish a task? Whether you search online or in computer books, you look for tips! Why? Because when an author finds an undocumented keyboard shortcut, an inside secret, or a really slick trick for doing something faster or better, they pull out that tip, box it, and label it in big letters. We're all drawn to little sidebar tips because we know that's where the really amazing, really fun, really useful stuff is found. There's only one problem. There's never enough of them.
Joseph Lowery and Angela C. Buraglia have created a book that's nothing but those amazing tips – cover to cover. They've assembled almost 300 tips showing you how to use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 more efficiently. They cut to the chase in coverage of CSS, template and library production, server-side coding, integrating and extending Dreamweaver, and a host of other topics.
